While a couple from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, were shopping for a mountain getaway, they were attracted to the rustic physical environment of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, but they also wanted vacation-style amenities. They found the perfect compromise in the form of the Amangani Resort. Perched on the edge of East Gros Venture Butte, the high-end resort offers luxury accommodations for its well-heeled guests along with sites for buyers who want to build vacation homes.

"The attraction of building in this resort community was not only the vantage point from the lot, with panoramic views of the Grand Tetons and Snake River Range," says the owner of this 8,388-square-foot house. "We can also enjoy the resources of Amangani: the pool, spa, restaurant. It’s a built-in community with amenities, and they take care of our house for us."
